What is Digital Storytelling
In this lesson, you’ll explore how digital storytelling uses simple tools like video, audio, and images to help you share your voice, experiences, and identity with confidence. You’ll learn why storytelling matters—for empowerment, connection, and personal growth—and how it can help you build valuable digital, language, social, and creative skills. Through guided reflections and activities, you’ll begin identifying a meaningful moment from your life to shape into your own story, whether it’s about strength, change, connection, or discovery.

Creating a Script and Starting a Storyboard
In this module, you’ll transform your personal idea into a clear, structured script and begin visually planning your story. You’ll learn how to write a short, meaningful narrative, add dialogue and reflection to bring it to life, and organise your ideas into a simple storyboard that maps out each moment of your story. Step by step, you’ll move from reflection to creation—building a strong foundation for your voice narration and final digital story, without focusing on perfection but on clarity, meaning, and confidence.

What is a storyboard
In this module, you’ll transform your personal idea into a clear, structured script and begin visually planning your story. Recording Our Digital Story
n this module, participants explore the role of voice in digital storytelling and learn how to record their personal narration for their digital story project. The module introduces simple recording techniques, encourages participants to feel comfortable using their authentic voice, and provides guidance on improving audio clarity and preparing recordings for the next stage of the storytelling process. Participants will also reflect on how tone, pauses, and emotion can strengthen storytelling and help create a meaningful connection with the audience.

Multimodal Elements for the Digital Story
In this module, participants begin building their digital stories using multimedia elements such as images, text, music, captions, and sound. The module explores how different forms of expression work together to support storytelling and communicate meaning more effectively. Participants are guided through the process of selecting visual and audio elements, combining them into a first digital story draft, and experimenting creatively with multimodal storytelling techniques before finalizing their projects in the next module.

Finalisation and Publication
Finalising, Publishing, and Reflecting on Your Digital Story. In this final stage, you’ll learn how to transform your draft into a polished video using simple technical tools, improve your audio and visuals through editing, and prepare your story for safe online sharing. You’ll explore how to export and publish your work on different platforms, manage privacy settings, and organise your materials into an empowerment portfolio that reflects your progress. By the end of this module, you won’t just have a finished digital story—you’ll also gain confidence, technical skills, and a deeper understanding of your personal growth as a storyteller.
